What is Bloom’s Taxonomy?
Bloom’s Taxonomy is a hierarchical framework for categorizing educational learning objectives. It helps educators create meaningful learning experiences by classifying cognitive skills from basic recall to advanced creation.
Teachers and Instructional Designers can use the Cognitive Domain app to search for an action-verb to discover its cognitive domain. Install the app from the Apple App Store.
How to use Cognitive Domain
1. Enter a verb in the text box, e.g., analyze, evaluate, compose, devise, explain)
2. View the results such as “Devise” (verb), and you’ll see that domain is Create
What do I do if my verb is not found?
You can add your own custom verb. Click the Add Custom Verb button at the bottom. Then enter the verb and matching cognitive domain. Finally click the Add button to save.

Remember
Retrieve relevant knowledge from long-term memory. Recognizing and recalling information.
Understand
